    This weekend is going to be a super fun one for me. That is because I get to play one of my best friends for the first time ever! My buddy's name is Tyler and we've been on the same team almost my entire hockey career. Literally four out of the six years I've played. We've been really good friends off the rink too along with our other friend Yianni. They were a grade younger than me so during their senior year, I was already playing my first year of college hockey. This year, they both decided to go down to Purdue and Tyler was able to join their hockey team so that kind of set the stage for us to meet playing each other.

    This game is going to be interesting for both me and Tyler. We've trained and practiced against each other for as long as we can remember so we know all of each others favorite moves and dangles like the back of our hands. If we go up against each other one on one who knows what will happen. They are definitely the better team so if we can't win, I'd be content with making Tyler look bad on some kind of play but we'll see if that happens

Indiana

      I have lived in Indiana my entire life. Well I can't  necessarily call it actually Indiana because I've been in The Region the entire time. For those of you that don't know, The Region is the little area of Indiana that is just across the border of Illinois, that is still technically a suburb of Chicago. We pay less taxes and we still get all the benefits of living by a big city. It's a nice place to live but we're still behind Illinois in a lot of things.      I am on a bus ride going to Louisville right now so we're taking a nice trip through the rest of Indiana and it is  boring to say the least. We're not even 20 minutes out of The Region and it's already all farmland. Indiana is a very boring state. Icarus

    Icarus poster picture         This week I had to watch a documentary for my English class. We were able to choose from a number of different ones, but the one I was most interested is one called Icarus, as it was highly recommended by my boss. I really enjoy documentaries, so I am happy to report this one did not disappoint and I would highly recommend watching this one to anyone. It starts out with a man named Bryan Fogel interested in seeing how much doping would help him in cycling. He starts searching through a number of doctors until he comes across one that works for the anti-doping agency in Russia named Grigory Rodchenkov. Very quickly we learn that Russia is not playing by the book and many people start coming forward claiming they have a systematic doping system in place for every major sporting event, especially the Olympics, fully equipped by the government, with Rodchenkov being the key piece in all of it. Fantasy Football

    Fantasy football is something I've done for many years. It's something that's a lot of fun, but gives a lot of people a lot of stress every Sunday in the fall. Right now I am in four different leagues and three of them are for money. It's not a ton of money at all, but it makes sure everybody in the league stays involved and active. I have friends in all of my leagues because that's really all that matters to me, just to have fun with my buddies. This is the most leagues I've ever been in so its a good amount of work to keep up in all them.      I am doing pretty well right now though. I am in second in three of my four leagues and in my other league I am still projected to make the  playoffs. That can change at any time though. Just last week in one of my leagues, I had my best player announced that he would miss the rest of the season with a foot injury so that will probably screw me for the playoffs.
