     Alright guys, so I have a confession to make. I have a guitar that I got for Christmas four years ago and its just been chilling in my room ever since. Sure it looks cool in my room, but when I have people in my room they always say, "Oh you play guitar" or something along those lines. Aaand then I have to do the usual spiel of how, no I don't play it but I plan on learning it at some point. Ladies and gentlemen, that day is today! Or actually yesterday I guess, but whatever same thing. I got some motivation in a podcast I listened to about someone who kept putting off learning it but finally decided to learn to play. After I heard that I thought to myself that I just needed to do that. 

    So that happened yesterday and so I just started looking up YouTube videos of easy songs to play on guitar because I wouldn't be able to stand going at just a super baby pace. I took piano when I was a kid and I've played drums since I was about 14 so I knew I'd have a good start on tempo and reading music. I am also a quick learner so I knew I could just dive in. 

    The two songs I found that were supposed to be some of the easiest were Riptide by Vance Joy and Hurt by Johnny Cash. Hurt is one of the best songs ever created so I knew I had to learn it. And if you don't believe me about that login to your Spotify or Apple Music right now and listen to it and you will not be disappointed. This is coming from someone who's not even a Johnny Cash fan. Both of the songs use pretty simple chord structure so as of this writing I am progressing pretty far into both songs. My biggest issue right now is being able to transition my hand between the chords but its already way better than it was. 

    Although I am doing pretty good with my persistence right now, this may change in the future. So if you ever see me ask how guitar is going and if I tell you I'm not playing, slap me in the face or something like that. I am giving you my full permission in this writing right now. This is my goal; to be a solid guitar player by next summer. I'll do my best to hold myself to it.

    OMG, get to it! Can we see a pic? I love that you're pushing on and learning guitar. It's a lifechanging venture!

Indiana

      I have lived in Indiana my entire life. Well I can't  necessarily call it actually Indiana because I've been in The Region the entire time. For those of you that don't know, The Region is the little area of Indiana that is just across the border of Illinois, that is still technically a suburb of Chicago. We pay less taxes and we still get all the benefits of living by a big city. It's a nice place to live but we're still behind Illinois in a lot of things.      I am on a bus ride going to Louisville right now so we're taking a nice trip through the rest of Indiana and it is  boring to say the least. We're not even 20 minutes out of The Region and it's already all farmland. Indiana is a very boring state. Icarus

    Icarus poster picture         This week I had to watch a documentary for my English class. We were able to choose from a number of different ones, but the one I was most interested is one called Icarus, as it was highly recommended by my boss. I really enjoy documentaries, so I am happy to report this one did not disappoint and I would highly recommend watching this one to anyone. It starts out with a man named Bryan Fogel interested in seeing how much doping would help him in cycling. He starts searching through a number of doctors until he comes across one that works for the anti-doping agency in Russia named Grigory Rodchenkov. Very quickly we learn that Russia is not playing by the book and many people start coming forward claiming they have a systematic doping system in place for every major sporting event, especially the Olympics, fully equipped by the government, with Rodchenkov being the key piece in all of it. Fantasy Football

    Fantasy football is something I've done for many years. It's something that's a lot of fun, but gives a lot of people a lot of stress every Sunday in the fall. Right now I am in four different leagues and three of them are for money. It's not a ton of money at all, but it makes sure everybody in the league stays involved and active. I have friends in all of my leagues because that's really all that matters to me, just to have fun with my buddies. This is the most leagues I've ever been in so its a good amount of work to keep up in all them.      I am doing pretty well right now though. I am in second in three of my four leagues and in my other league I am still projected to make the  playoffs. That can change at any time though. Just last week in one of my leagues, I had my best player announced that he would miss the rest of the season with a foot injury so that will probably screw me for the playoffs.
